You're watching the last stand with Brian Custer. Yes, it is the last stand, and we are live. As we say, we're gonna do this at least once a month as we bring you biggest names in the sport and talk about some of the biggest fights that have gone down. And this weekend was a great weekend of boxing. I'm Brian Custer, and listen, this weekend we had Dimitri Bivol. He was back. 15 months he had been out. Remember, he had back surgery, but he came back, uh, fought as mandatory Michael Eifert and looked great. Now, it looked more like a sparring session, dropped him in the first 15 seconds of the fight, uh, went on, got a unanimous decision, won basically every round of that fight. So that was really uh good to see Dmitry Bivol back. We'll talk about that. How about the ladies? Uh Amanda Serrano back in the ring, uh, got a two-round stoppage over Cheyenne Hansen. Remember in the in uh their, I want to say it had to be the final weigh-in where they had the final face off, and Hansen blew the bubbles in Amanda Serrano's face. And Amanda Serrano said, Let me tell you something, don't you disrespect me like that? You're gonna pay for that. And she made her pay, stopped her in the second round. Uh, also says that maybe 2026 may be her last year of fighting. That at the end of the year, this may be a wrap for Amanda Serrano. So, who should she fight next? I know Alicia Bumgardner is like, yo, it should be me. Let's get it on. Uh, Stephanie Hahn, uh, she was also the main event on that fight. Um, she gets the majority decision over Holly Holm. Really good fight, back and forth. Um, I thought Holly Holm dominated the second half of that fight, also took some rounds in the early part of it, too. I was surprised that Hahn got the win, the majority decision. Now, it was in El Paso. Great job for MVP. It was a sell-out crowd. It just goes to show you that women's boxing is still thriving and hot. Um, but I thought Holly Home at 44 looked great and should have gotten the win and should have been the new uh world champion there. So we'll talk a little bit about that. And then, of course, the fight of the weekend. O'Shaucky Foster defended his WBC title against Savage Four, Raymond Ford. I mean, they had a vicious back and forth uh in the buildup to this fight. You saw the pushing that happened at the weigh-in, and Oshaki Foster said he was going to show that there was gonna be levels to this thing, and he did exactly that. I mean, he I remember at one point they were talking about, you know, if he gets reckless, I'll stop him. Oshaki Foster looked better as the fight went on, and you can see how slick he was. Uh, I thought one of the things that that really cracked me up, he said, because you remember Ray Raymond Ford was trained by Shakur Stevenson's cousin. Uh Shakur, you know, got some sparring in with Raymond Ford uh to try to get him ready for Oshaki Foster. And Oshaki called him the dollar store version of Shakur Stevenson. Uh and then obviously after the victory, uh, called out Shakur Stevenson. Shakur actually got into the ring, they had a you know back and forth. That would be one heck of a fight if they do it. If Shakur moves up, or I shouldn't say Shakur, if Oshaki moves up, because he's you know he's the champion at 130 pounds, moves up and challenges Shakur, that would be great. Or how about a unification fight with Emmanuel Navarete? I think that would be fantastic for Oshaki Foster as well. But obviously, he's got the long heated rivalry with Shakur. He's now taken out uh one of Shakur's little homies and Ford, you know. Oshaki and and Shakur sparred like what is it, four or five years ago or whatever. So they've got some history uh there. Um, also, we got special guest. Ronnie Shields is going to join us in about 30 minutes. Uh, we're gonna talk to Ronnie about what he's been up to. Listen, he's training Jamal Charlo. Jamal Charlo's coming back. Uh, he's training Errol Spitz for the Tim Zoo fight. So we'll talk to Ronnie Shields about that, one of the best trainers in the sport and just a really knowledgeable guy in the sport of boxing hell. He's he trained some of the greatest from Evander Holyfield and so on. And by the way, on the last stand, you know, obviously we drop new episodes every Monday. Uh, we've got this live show today. SPEAKER_18It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable. Oh my god. Streaming is crazy, right? Because yeah, every fighter is crossed over to streaming. Shakur, uh, Keyshawn Johnson. I mean Johnson, Keyshawn Davis. Yes, I went football.

SPEAKER_06Yeah, you're he was doing it a long time ago. Ryan was, he was, I mean, he he had gotten on that train a long time ago. It's one of the reasons why that that crossover, that global crossover for him is so big because of you live streaming, live streaming for him. Matter of fact, I think hey, Alex, I think we need to live stream with you, bro. We need to live stream. I'm gonna start live streaming, champ.

SPEAKER_18What's the what's on the lineup first, uh, BC?
SPEAKER_06So you you give you give me your biggest takeaway. Give me your biggest takeaway from this weekend. Start with you, Alex, from what we saw.
SPEAKER_18Um, biggest takeaway, I'm gonna have to say the Ford Savage and Oshaki Foster, man. Um, that was the fight that I was really looking forward to. And no, no, nothing against the other fights that we're gonna be talking about, but that was the major fight this weekend, you know. Yeah. It's a hell of a lead up to that. The pushing, the shoving, the talking, uh, the one-man army Oshaki taking on the whole, you know, damn, they was taking on my jersey boys. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, that's it. I gotta give credit when credit is due. And Oshaki was just a better guy that night. And um, I was impressed with Oshaki, man. Um, I you know, he kept talking about his conditioning and how he was injury free and that uh he was he was you know he was feeling amazing, and it's never happened like that for him in a long time in a camp where he doesn't have injuries.

SPEAKER_18And his last face-off, man, I don't know if you guys caught that, bro. It's like it's like Oshaki was going super sane, bro. He went up to to to to uh Savage's face and he was he was sweating, bro. He was sweating like like he was so turned up and he was just in such good shape, man, that he was sweating. Meanwhile, my man Ford was looking a little dry. I think that weight cut might have been uh a little tough for him. I mean, I can't speak for him, but the the mood was different between him and and and um and Oshak. And it showed in the 11th and 12th.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, oh my god, man. He you want to talk about stepping on the gas pedal? He bloodied he bloodied Ford up in that 11th round. He you talk about closing the show, he he definitely did that, and even you know, you made you raise a great point, Alex, because in in that final face-off, you notice how like Ford was all like and Oshaki was just smiling, like bro, he was like, I'm gonna show you what's what's what's gonna happen, and and he did it. He and and and you know, as I'm watching this fight at the beginning, it was like back and forth, back and forth. They were all like, you know, bah ah ah you got uh you did ah, you did that, and then all of a sudden, Oshaki got even slicker and he couldn't get him, and you could you could tell the frustration on Raymond Ford. And I I I was impressed, man. I I feel like from a national, I know not us, because we know the sport, we live it, and we love it so much. At what point are people gonna give Oshaki Foster his prop? This dude is a bad man, he can fight, and I know they look at the early stuff and they say, oh, them them losses he took early on. Yo, man, that was, you know, look, we all have to grow. And that dude is slick, he can fight. He may not be the biggest puncher, but I tell you what, his work, his work rate is high, and like you, like he always says, if you get reckless in there, oh, he can stop you. Yeah, he can stop you.
SPEAKER_18Man, this sent my boy Colin to the shadow realm. My back, I don't know what happened, but I had to I had to switch everything up real quick, man. I'm actually gonna bring you back real quick, live in the wreck right now, man. I'm gonna have to uh uh uh what what did you think, Colin?
SPEAKER_03What'd you think about the fight? What'd you think? I honestly you brought up the what my biggest highlight from the weekend was. I was more intrigued to see how Bebo looked after the long layoff. Because what was it, 15 months? Yep, 15 months. 15 months, and he's coming off a surgery, back surgery, yeah. So he eated discs. Yeah, so I was more intrigued to see how he looked, and if he looked like pound for pound, as we know Bebo is. And honestly, he looked pretty good. Um, I wasn't familiar with the guy he was fighting. Yeah, I wasn't very familiar with a sermon guy, man. Yeah, I wasn't very familiar with him at all. But obviously, you could tell in the fight that he wasn't on even close to Bebo's level. But Bebo looked really good. You know, he was he was out he was out there looking for the the KO, but Ifer was there just to survive. He was just showing up the whole time. But Bebo looked good, he looked quick. I didn't see I didn't see any drop-off in terms of his performance than what we are used to seeing from B Bull. I mean, he dropped him in like what the first 30 seconds of the fight.
SPEAKER_06First 15 seconds of the fight.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so um bow looked really good, and I I feel like there's no better time than when uh for this uh Benavidez fight right now.
SPEAKER_06Now I'm happy you you mentioned that because now the one thing I was disappointed in was after that fight when they when they were doing the interviews because I for was one of his mandatories, where Big Ole said, he said, Well, I still have my other mandatories, I got to get out the way. Yeah, come on, man.
SPEAKER_03Nah, we we know we know we know what the people want. He knows what the people want.
SPEAKER_06You know, you you know this. If you want to make that fight with Benavidez, all you got to do is is go to the IBF or another those other sanctioning bills and say, Hey, I need a special uh recommendation because I got this fight with Benavides, who's who is a champ, who is a champ there at 175, and I want this unification fight, and now we're gonna we're gonna fight and we're gonna have a uh undisputed champion at 175 pounds. He don't want he don't want Benavides, he don't he don't want that word, and I'll be honest with you, I wouldn't want Benavides because Benavides is gonna beat him. Here's what I was gonna say Bevo's a great fighter, he ain't he Benavides is still getting that ass. That's my opinion.
SPEAKER_03I feel like Benavides' activity would be the reason why he wins that fight. I feel like his constant pressure, because bivo bivo likes to come forward, but Benavidez can come forward the whole fight. Oh, absolutely, he's gonna come forward the entire fight, and I feel like Bebo is not ready for that.
SPEAKER_18I mean, if you take respectfully, respectfully, nah, I get you know, and if you look, Dmitry Bible, he he was getting his rounds in, man. You know, that that surgery, you know, uh, you gotta see how you react to to and that wasn't a tough fight. No, you know what I mean. He that's nowhere near Benavidez onslaught level, you know what I mean? It's like, you know, he's maybe he's just trying, you know, you gotta do the right thing. This is check, this is chess, not checkers, right? So I I I could understand that Demetriu maybe wants to hit another couple mandatories and kind of work his way up to that tough, tough fight. Um, because again, you know, even though he knocked Eifert down, I mean, it was just something, it was a check hook that you know, yeah, just got caught got caught with. But he didn't at no point did I really see him going for like a finish finish, you know, a hard, strong finish.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, to be fair, Iford was shelling up towards the middle of the fight, like it was it was just survival mode at that point. But I I I I get what you're saying.
SPEAKER_18But do you think like the old Dimitri before the uh surgery would have finished him? Like even if he was shelling up, gone to the body, opened him up, you know. But I I think he was trying to get some rounds, yo.
SPEAKER_03He he fought well though. He fought well. He he he was mixing it up, like he he fought really well, in my opinion. But I don't think he fought. Yeah, I don't think he fought uh at a good enough level that I would say, oh yeah, he's beating. Yeah, I don't think he's he's gonna beat Benavidez respectfully. The way Benavidez looked last fight, I don't think anyone's beating him right now.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, you know, I I was one of the things I I was having a conversation uh with uh one of David's people, and you know, I was like, yo, what's the deal? Uh we're gonna get bivol and Benavides, and he was like, Yeah, I'm just like you. I heard what bivol said that this he don't want to fight us, and they're gonna do what I know what they're gonna try to say. We uh maybe sometime at the end of 27, we'll we'll because we want to get our couple of mandatories out the way first, and and David's not gonna wait for anybody. And and so it looks like from a Benavides standpoint that I think the IBF belt is vacant there at cruiserweight, and that's what Benavides wants next. He wants that IBF belt, so he's gonna try to fight for that. And after that, his people said he's he who move up the heavyweight. He wants he wants that, he wants that IBF belt. Wants to be, you know, if he can't be undisputed there at cruiserweight, and then step on up the heavyweight. And oh my god. I don't I don't I don't I don't know about that one. Could you see that?
SPEAKER_03Can you imagine?
SPEAKER_18You know, that's what people were talking about.
SPEAKER_06Yes, it's a good time to get him. There's a lot of tread on them tires, man. I'm telling you, it's wearing the tread is wearing on them.
SPEAKER_18My man Robert Jones has some he had some sense in what he was talking about, man.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, you're right. Roy Jones did say that, didn't he? Why not get him now? He he he get and and look, Rico fought him.
SPEAKER_03Well, Rico was winning that fight. Rico wasn't winning that fight, you know. Had he that was one of the worst stoppages of all time, I ain't gonna lie. At the end of the bell, the bell was already rung.
SPEAKER_18Are we serious? That Jim Carrey boxing style really carried him through, man. I'm telling you.

SPEAKER_03But moving up to heavyweight though, come on. I don't I don't know. I don't know if that's realistic.
SPEAKER_18It's the thing is is that I don't think it's like if you were telling me, Kyle, if you was telling me, if you were talking to me about any other fighter who hasn't showed me that type of aggression, that type of finish, I would have probably been like, Yeah, Colin, you're right. But like now I'm starting to believe it. Now I'm like, man, like he really beat the living dog uh out of this guy, you know, and going up another weight class.
SPEAKER_05I mean it's not going up another weight class, Colin Colin is too young. Roy Jones Jr. Roy Jones Jr. did it, Roy Jones Jr. did it, huh?
SPEAKER_06He fought there that they fought Tony there at heavyweight. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_03Come on, and Benavides is young. Imagine Benavidas Moses Atama. Oh Moses Atama might be hot by the time Benavitas gets up there. So but we're talking about let's get a payday.
SPEAKER_18Yes, let's get it alleged.
SPEAKER_06That's a that's a big fight. That's a huge but but a toma it's not a money fight. You want it, you want a money fight.
SPEAKER_03Usick's a money fight. You're saying he wants the belts, though. If he's gonna fight us, I mean I feel like it's more about the belts than the money.
SPEAKER_06It's about it's about legacy and the money. Because you you could say this why would I fight a Tama, who's a young, strong, whatever, as opposed to Usyk, who is considered at what pound for pound, best fighter in the world, was the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Give me that guy, and and you and you know this uh whether it's Saudi or whoever, they're gonna throw you about 55, 60 million to go do it.
SPEAKER_03He already fought there, he already fought there once.
SPEAKER_06So hey, hey, Alex, you was you was with me when we did the interview with Benavides. He said, Why'd he do it? He said, Hey, Saudi was throwing that bag at me. I was like, you know what? I'm gonna go do it. Yeah, for 30, 40 million, okay. Why not? Did he know he can he gonna get at least 20, 25 more to fight Usick?
SPEAKER_18Absolutely, and not for nothing, man. Bibble, bibbles they got a good strategy. If they see if they're seeing that David Benavides is hungry to get this IBF vacant, right? At the cruiser, they're gonna want him to stay at that cruiser weight longer so that when he needs to cut back down, it's gonna be harder for him. Yeah, you know, they want they they they're playing the chess, man. I still wanted to see Bible versus David Benavides. Don't get me wrong, I need that. I need that. And and and and and and how about better bev, right? We still wanted to see that the monster versus the monster. Yes, so you know, Benavides, as long as his body holds out and and he's able to come back down. Because look, fellas, we're talking about if he let's just say cruiser, where he's at now, he's gotta come down 25 pounds. 25 pounds is 25 pounds, and then they're walking around like at two, probably 215, 220, like God knows what what Benavides is walking around that. He weighed in like at 198, right? Or maybe a little close to 200 when he fought um um what's my man's name? Uh Surdo. And and and and if you if you wait longer and you're at that weight a lot longer, it gets tougher dropping that back down. So it's gonna be all on discipline really to carry him throughout these weight divisions because bro, it's it's tough on the body.
SPEAKER_03Back to Bebo. If Bivo were to say, you know what, I don't want the Benavidez fight and I want to fight better be after the trilogy, what's your opinion on that? Would you accept that as you know what? Yeah, or would you say, ah, he's ducking Benavidez?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I mean I I know for a fact that he don't want that that Benavidez smoke right now, especially as Alex pointed out, especially coming off of the back surgery. Like, yeah, yeah, let me get I got some rounds in, but I don't know. I ain't ready for this. I don't know. I don't know if I'm ready for this.

SPEAKER_06So so give us give us give us the update on Ronnie Shield. I saw Jramal Charlo back in the lab. He's been posting on there. Uh, I know my man Errol Spence there. You you and Errol Spence. That's a man. Give us the update with Errol Spence and Jamal Charlot.
SPEAKER_11Well, the thing with with let me start with Errol first. You know, Errol's been coming for the last like three weeks now. So we, you know, we decided, you know, he decided that he called me up and asked me what I'd be interested in helping him out for his next fight. So I told him, yeah, that'd be great for him to come down and then we'll just, you know, we'll just work, you know. And he said, okay. So when he came down, the first day came down, I said, now look, I'm gonna test you this first day. I know you say you've been working out a little bit, but you know, I'm I'm not gonna take it easy on you. I'm gonna I want to see what you got. And man, I worked him six rounds like really, really hard. And you know, and he was there. He said, that's it. I said, okay, I like that. You know, so then I told him, I said, look, man, I'm gonna throw a lot of stuff at you because I just want to see what works and what doesn't work. So if if I see something that I don't feel, you know, is gonna help you in the fight, I'm gonna take it and throw it out. But everything that I think is gonna work, then we're gonna keep it in and we're gonna work on this every day. So for the last couple weeks, though, you know, I've really been throwing a lot of different things at him, you know, and I've been, you know, just want to see what works and what doesn't work. And, you know, everything is going good right now. So this week is gonna be our first week sparring. So now I'll be to tell, you know, what I think works and what doesn't work.

SPEAKER_06What about what about Jamal?
SPEAKER_11Well, Jamal is in the gym also. He's been he's he's been coming every day lately. So, you know, um uh Louis DeCoubis called me up and and uh asked me that I think that'd be good to put him on the same card. I say, yeah, absolutely. I said that'd be great, you know, because you know I think I can get him, not I don't I I can't train them at the same time. I would definitely have to train them separately. But you know, I say that'd be great. So they they're they're looking for opponents right now. They actually sent me one opponent right now that I really like, okay. But you know, but you know, until they make it, you know, they haven't made the fight yet. So I'm just waiting to hear what's gonna happen with that fight.
SPEAKER_06Is that opponent? Is that one of is it an Australian guy? That I would assume.
SPEAKER_11It's an Australian guy, yes.
SPEAKER_06Okay, absolutely. Okay, okay. And and uh let me ask you that and and for Jamal, is it 168? Is that where he 168? Yes, absolutely. And Errol, Errol and Tim Zoo, is it at 154 or is it at a catch weight? Is that a catchway? 158. At 158, yes. And my question then, when you saw EJ, what was it that you saw that you said I think I need to add this to his game for him to be where I want him, for him to be where I want him to be?
SPEAKER_11Yes, well, it was a few things that I saw that you know that I I thought would help him, you know, mainly head movement. Okay, you know, mainly that was one of the main things I saw that he wasn't doing, you know, and like I say, but you know, he's been out three years. So, you know, I didn't I didn't expect for him to come and you know just be the old era right away. You know, so but you know, when you get in an accident, you know, sometimes you know your your body stiffens up and you know things things things change, you know. So now I'm just trying to get him back to be a loose and just be fluent with his punches, you know, and and that's what we're working on right now, man. Just for him to be fluent with his punches and moving his head and you know, just doing things that you know he should have he should be doing, especially for a guy, you know, like Tim Zoo.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, right, exactly. When you let's say let's say when you watched the Terrence Crawford fight, did you see, did you see like what did you see when you watched the Terrence Crawford fight? Was that a guy who said, did you say, man, I think he's been at 147 too long? Or do you think it was and I and I'm I I want to make sure that I asked this in all respect out of Terrence Crawford because that dude, we already saw what he did to Canelo. That dude's on another level. So I don't I don't want to minimize anything what he did, but I thought I I I always said this when I when I when that fight was happening and then being in the middle of that fight in the at the press conference and all that stuff. I said, man, if this fight goes the distance, I'm gonna give it to Arrow because I think he's so big. I think that power and he will be over, he would just bully Terrence Crawford. But if it's a knockout, I said, it's probably this guy because this guy's got that one punch knockout power. That's how I saw it. I didn't expect anything like that because this guy not only stopped him, but he was also the bully in in the ring. So what did you see uh uh from Errol Smith after that fight?
SPEAKER_11Well, you know, going into that fight, you know, I was I said, man, this is gonna be a great fight. You know, just going into the fight because both guys showing so much, you know, especially Crawford with him being a you know fight South Paul, then turn Orthodox, you know. Sometimes that could be a little confusing, you know. But when the fight started, and man, it was just it was all Crawford right from the very beginning. Yeah, you know, and and so I said to myself, well, maybe you know, errors just don't happen anymore. You know, maybe this is maybe this is just the end of it. Yeah, you know, it could be the end of his career. Because you know, a career is not promised to you so many years, you know, especially if you don't take care of yourself, you know, take care of your body, you know, you you know, and we all know at that time, you know, when El had the accident and with you know with the partying and all that stuff, that you know, sometimes in one fight it all comes into play. And I really thought that's what happened to him. Yeah, and so now after that fight, when he just decided, okay, I'm giving it up, you know, and he cleaned himself up. And he got himself back together. And for the last three years, he told me himself, he said, man, for the last three years, I said I didn't want to go out that way. You know, so so now that he's like three years sober, he's you know, taking care of his body, and now he wants to push it as far as he can push it. So, you know, so he wants to try it again. You know, now everybody can't come back after three years. So, but it depends on how you do it, you know, and I think he's doing it in a good way for the last couple years. He's been going to the gym, you know, not thinking about fighting, but just going to the gym, just getting himself, you know, just hit the bags, and you know, then all of a sudden one day he decided I want to come back. I want to see what I got. I want to see if I can still do this. And but he told me himself, he said, listen, it's not a full comeback. I'm gonna fight maybe two to three fights, and then I'm done. That's it. But he just don't want to go out the way he went out with Travis Crawford. So I respect that, and I told him I understood, and I told him I'll be there for him as long as he needed me. So, you know, so this is where we are right now.
SPEAKER_06That's fantastic. We got the great Ronnie Shields with us here on Last Stand Live. Uh uh I'm happy you said that. Uh Sebastian Fundora, I was talking to a member of his camp, and Ronnie, he said they said they are going to be watching that fight very closely. In fact, they said Fundora, their plans for Fundora is maybe get him uh fight his, I guess it's mandatory, I guess, like September, I guess what it is. And they said, if Errol wins, that is a fight they would love. And they said, even if we got to do it in Texas, we would like that fight because we were supposed to do have it, you know, a couple of years ago. Now that you're with Team Spence, is that a fight you like? Errol Spence in Fundora, if if he's victorious against Tim Zoo.
SPEAKER_11Well, you know, here's the thing, right? I think first, you know, I mean, I don't plan, I don't never plan ahead. Okay. You know, that's that's me, though. You know, I take one fight at a time, you know, and you know, if ever comes out and does the things that I know he can do, and you know, here's the thing also, you know, I've been with several fighters that have quit and come back, you know, mainly Evander Holyfield. And Evander just wasn't the same guy when he decided to make a come, uh, you know, like a slight comeback. He wasn't, he just, he just wasn't there anymore. You know, yes, in the gym, he looked great, you know, but then he got in a fight and you know, I didn't know who who that was. You know, so you know, that's just why I don't put the card before the horse. You know, that's you know, let's see what we do first when we go to Australia. And if everything works out, you know, and he he wins and looks the way he's supposed to look, then I would say, you know, okay, Eric, it's up to you. He may not want the Fundova fight just right away. He may want to take another fight first before that, and then say, you know what, I'm gonna do one more fight, my last fight, I'm gonna go out as champion of the world. Then I think the Fundora fight would be the best choice for you.
SPEAKER_06Uh great Ronnie Shields here with us. How about Jamal? We've seen we've seen the clips of Maul. Uh, you know, listen, it for a time there it was like, man, I was concerned about Maul because it was like, I want to know that he's all there mentally, you know, like you say, the the drinking part, you want to make sure all that's past him. Where is he in his life? And will we get to see, finally get to see that that that Jamal Charlo with we're accustomed to seeing?
SPEAKER_11Well, you know, he was supposed to come to the gym on Saturday, right? And it didn't show up. And it kind of got me a little concerned.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_11Then all of a sudden, he FaceTimed me. He was with Andre Ward, you know, at the fights here with the Oshaki fight.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_11You know, and he said, Hey man, I forgot to tell you that, you know, I was I was gonna do some things with Andre with the with the with the fight. And he said, That's why I didn't show up. So I told him, I said, All right, you know, you know, I was looking, I was waiting on you. Yeah, you didn't show up. So he said, Yeah, but I forgot to tell you that, you know, I was gonna be doing this this thing with them. And he said, But I promise I'll be there Monday. Okay. So, but you know, he hadn't missed a date otherwise after that. Okay, good. So I was getting a little concerned because it was Saturday, you know.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_11And I was saying, where is he? I know he was going to the fight, but I didn't know he was doing something earlier that day with him, and he forgot to tell me. So, but you know, here's the thing everything has been going great. Okay, you know, he's been working hard, like he's supposed to. He's been doing his running, he's been doing his conditioning, and you know, and I really feel good where he's at mentally right now.
SPEAKER_06Good, good, good, good. You you know, and and Alex can attest to this because Alex helps me produce the show. You know, we had Mel on, and we were talking about Mel because he's obviously trying to come back as well, and and he was talking about the relationship and that their relationship isn't one now anymore. Um, and you've you've been with these guys since they were young. How how when they're twins? How how how could how could guys be this close and then now yet be this far apart from each other? Is there any way to explain the dynamic of that relationship?
SPEAKER_11I definitely can't explain that. You know, you know, it's it's so funny because they they were so close. Yes. Growing up, you know, growing up together, they were so close. And I remember when, you know, in the hammers, they came to me. Both of them came to me and said, hey, we want we want to turn pro and we want you to train us. You know, I'm like, dude, you're you're 15 years old. I can't train you right now. And I told them, I said, when you when you get a little older, then you come back. And so they did, you know, where it was it was your mail who came first. You know, he called me, he called me first. I think it was like 18. I want to turn pro. I said, okay, you at the age now where 17, 18. Uh, you know, and I said, you know, you're at that age now where you can start thinking about it. So he said, no, no, I don't want to think about it, I want to turn pro. So we actually turned Jamel pro first. And, you know, and I I got with Shelley Finkel, and Shelly Finko was helping me with mail. Maul wanted to try to go to the Olympics. So he fought, he did fight Olympic trials and he lost. So then he came to me, and at that by the time he came to me, I had already got mail with uh PVC. So once I got him with PVC, then Jamal thought I could just come in and they could just get me. And it wasn't it was it was hard for me to get Maud with PVC. You know, they they had at first Al was like, uh, Mani, you know, sometimes it don't work with others. You know, you know, especially twins, man. They're twins. You know, he said, how's this gonna work? If one lose, how's that gonna affect the other? It's gonna be alright. You know, I say, is everything is gonna be good? Please, I say, just give him that opportunity. And man, it took like, he gave Maul like six fights on the undercut and a lot of fights that was here in Houston. And finally he said, Okay, we're gonna give him a shot. And we're gonna let him fight for some NABM title, so whatever. And Maul knocked the guy out, and he said, Okay, I think it's gonna work with these two guys. So, you know, so that's the way that happened. Wow, how about that?

You touched on it a little bit, but I want to ask, in your opinion, what does a successful three-year comeback for Arrow look like? Because it's been a while. Fans are eager, but I feel like there's some unrealistic, unrealistic expectations on what a three-year comeback really means. What is what is that what do what does a successful three-year comeback look like for Aerospense?
SPEAKER_11Well, I think the number one thing is the basics. You know, we have to get back to the basics, you know, the jab, you know, just the simple things to get his body getting back used to what it used to be. But once you get past the basics, then we can start adding things that you know, he used to do, but add new things that he hasn't even touched on yet. And as great of a fighter as he ever is or was, you know, it's still some things that you know I make him do that he should have been doing, and he never was doing. So, you know, so we, you know, we definitely have to, you know, have to touch up on a lot of things. But the most important thing is just the basic boxing stuff to get his body back to doing things that he used to do.
SPEAKER_06It's really interesting. That's really interesting. I like that. Hey, it will uh I think when you uh go into Maul now, I think a lot of folks want to see Jamal and Caleb Plant. Do you think we will see that fight anytime soon?
SPEAKER_11Caleb Plant don't want to fight, man. You know, here's the thing, right? So when they first were talking about that fight, Jamal and Caleb Lant, they said, okay, okay, they called me and asked me that I think that would be the right fight for Maul. I said, yes, absolutely. I said, they got history together, so let's do it. So they said, okay. So they called Caleb Lynn, called me back. He said he didn't have a trainer. He, you know, he said he loved Red Man and he was looking for another trainer. Okay, no problem. I said, well, get back to me and let me know. So weeks go by. I called, I called the Coopers myself. Okay. Hey, what's up with the Caleb Plant fight? Uh he still said he doesn't have a trainer. So it's been like this for like the last six months. Wow. He doesn't have a trainer. So I don't know if he has a trainer or not. So I say, hey, you know, so when they call me about possibly doing the fight in Australia, I say, could it be Caleb Plant? No, I can't be Caleb Plant. We thought it might be better for having an opponent from there. I say, that's fine with me. No, no problem. So right now, Caleb Plant is off the radar.
SPEAKER_06Damn. Interesting. Interesting. Yeah, I thought maybe that would be something that we would see here uh anytime soon uh well recently uh soon. Well, what about Canelo? There was there was that there was some talk at one point, you know, and and listen, we knew Maul was supposed to have the Canelo fight first, and then obviously he had his issues, and then Mel had to step in and take it. Um do you think that we will ever see Jamal and Canelo?
SPEAKER_11Man, I wanted that fight so bad. You know, and you know, when when the fight was first offered, you know, at first Maul was excited about it, but then he started having issues at home. You know, and then him and his wife got divorced, and you know, it took a big toll on him. Yeah, so that's why that's why Jamel got the fight because of that. But now, you know, after this fight, I would love for Jamal to get the fight with Canelo. I think that'd be a great fight for Jamal.
SPEAKER_06Interesting. Uh we we have uh would you guys did did did he say that we got people on in the chat asking?
SPEAKER_03We do got super chats, but I'll ask Alex's Alex's question first. Okay, you can't hear him. Alex asks, so going into this fight with Tim Zoo, what are some of the things that you're working on with Aero to make sure he stays out of these fire fights? And something that uh I know Air's always in these firefights and exchanges. Uh he look he likes to be in the pocket, he knows how to throw bodywork. It's it's the same uh play moving forward because it's kind of hard to know sometimes, takeaway from what a fighter naturally does in the ring. So, what what are you doing to help Arrow stay out of these firefights and these exchanges and not get hurt?
SPEAKER_11Well, you know, I'm definitely trying to get him in the box for a little bit more, you know. But look, you know, VPN in this game, damn near my whole life, you know, firefight's gonna happen. You know, you know, you can't back away from it.
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_11You know, this is this is something that, you know, Tim Zoo is this guy that comes straight forward. You know, he's gonna get close. When he gets close, we just, you know, we're not gonna be holding it, wrestling. No, no, we're gonna throw punches at this guy. So a firefight is gonna definitely happen. You know, I'm not gonna take him away from that. You know, you know, I'm just gonna add to that. And it's gonna be a lot of things you're gonna see that's gonna be a little bit different than in arrow, but you know, we're definitely gonna be, you know, we have to trade with them, we have to trade with. You know, like this is gonna be a 12-round firefight. You know, I've already put that in his head from the very beginning. You know, we're not running from this guy. You know, we're, you know, we're gonna showcase a good jab and good culmination, but at the same time, we're not gonna be, you know, moving around the ring. You know, I would wanna I want to meet him in the middle of the ring. That's what we have to fight at. And we have to control the metal. And that's that's the thing that you know that that we're working on controlling the middle of the ring.

SPEAKER_06Hey, Ronnie, Ronnie, let me get your question. What do you think it was about the greatness of Ronnie Shields and what he does that sold Arrow? Because, you know, Arrow spent some time with Bradman. You know, Bradman was on air. I was like, you know what, I had him for like a week, man. And, you know, at the end he just said, hey, look, you know, it was great. I learned a lot. Uh, I'm just gonna, you know, go on and and and talk to some other people. I know he spent time with Roy Jones Jr. What was it that you think it was that Ronnie Shields did that he said, okay, this this is my guy?
SPEAKER_11Well, I think because I think I showed him something different, you know. Um and I I just think I just think that uh, you know, with me being with so many good guys, you know, so many champions that and not just talking to him and telling him what to do, but showing him what to do. You know, and I think, you know, I I told him from the very beginning that I'm not gonna take it easy on you. You know, this is you know, if you're gonna do this, we're gonna do it the right way. And the only way I know how to do it is is to do it the right way. You know, I I told him that I study opponents, and you know, I say, but every fight is different when you really look at it. So I said you have to develop a better job than you've ever had before. That's number one. Number two, different combinations. You know, you can't be doing the same thing all the time. It doesn't work, especially with a guy like a Tim Zoo. You know, we gotta show him things that he's never seen before, you know, or things that have hurt him before. We gotta keep showing him that, you know, stuff like that. You know, I say when you go back in the 24 Fondura, you know, the first fight was, you know, because of the the cut, you know, the cut and the head. But I say, but look at the second fight, you know, and I say, Erl, you nothing like Fondura, especially with the height.
SPEAKER_15Right.
SPEAKER_11Look at the stuff he did to him when he, you know, when Telm got close to him. You know, I said, look, you on the other hand, have never done that. You know, this is something that we have to work on. You know, you know, you are an elite fighter. You should already be doing this stuff. I shouldn't have to be coming and telling you, okay, you you know, you're not doing this or you're not doing that. You know, this is stuff you should already know.

SPEAKER_11Yes, but they fought on the same night. So they fought on the same night. So some my guy opened up the the main portion of the car, you know, with a great win. And like this guy, this kid, man, he's so good. He's he is so great to work with. He, you know, I just love everything about him. And he's definitely going to be one of the guys that I coach for, you know, because he's a pressure guy.

SPEAKER_11And you know, and he moves his hands, he's not afraid to do anything.

SPEAKER_11Well, everybody's an option, as long as they don't train with me, they're an option. So look, how do you see that fight playing out for Brian Norman? This kid, this kid is something else, man.

SPEAKER_11Brian Norman Jr. Absolutely. He is he is he's something else. He he's a great fighter. And man, and just with the one fight that we've had together, you know, his confidence is through the roof right now, you know. And you know, we're going back, we definitely want to go back and get Devin Haney. You know, that's that's an option that we have to, you know. I told him from the very beginning, I want to get that fight back, you know. You know, he just wasn't himself that night, you know. So I say, you know, you've got to get that fight back. So, you know, so top rank is you know, is doing everything they can. But look, if Keyshawn is in the way of getting that, definitely got to get Keyshawn too.

You know, sometimes when we have with Holyfield, you know, we used to have so many people though, that sometimes we had to close the door because it was just too many. Wow. SPEAKER_11Well, we haven't got an opponent yet, okay, as of yet. They haven't sent me anything yet. Okay. So, but definitely they're talking within the next few months. So, but he knows I have to go to Australia, whatever. Right. So definitely is gonna be have to be after that, and enough time for me to work in him after that. So I'm thinking about maybe August sometime and definitely get another fight soon.
SPEAKER_06But you know, we had him on the last stand, and man, he just the effusive praise he gave Errol Spence. He was like, man, this guy's like been like an idol to me. We run together, we were in the in the gym, you know, training uh together. He said, but more importantly, he said it was the stuff that Arrol, the knowledge he was pouring into him, right? He said, is what I take away the most. He said, because he's learned so much from his career that is like, oh, okay, all right, I got you, OG. I'm gonna make sure uh I do that and I don't do those things that you say I I shouldn't be doing that you did.
SPEAKER_11Right. You know, and that's the thing. I encourage all my guys to talk to each other, you know, because you know, they talk to the ones that's been there and done that, you know. And matter of fact, you know, Evander, you know, Evander was at the gym about a month ago, and Brian got to talk to Evander also, you know, and you know, it was it was it was so good, you know. And I'm telling her, hey man, ask questions. Yeah you know, you know, you you don't know until you until you ask, you know, you know, just ask him anything. He's he's here right here. You know, just talk to him. And he did, man. And it was it was great for you know, not just for Brian, but all the guys in the gym. SPEAKER_06Hey, it didn't David Morrell was with you at one point, wasn't he, for a couple fights? Yes. Well, what happened? What happened? Did you see his fight? Oh my god, what happened? SPEAKER_11You know, you know, Brian, it's something's you know, something's happened for a reason. You know, I, you know, these guys sometimes they come in and they think they can come in and run my gym. And you're not gonna come in and run my gym. Right. You know, I'm the only one to pay the bills there. So, you know, so nobody is gonna come and run my gym. You know, the thing with David was, you know, David, he's lazy. You know, and I used to think about it sometimes when I give you a training time, I expect you to be there 15 minutes before your training time to get yourself together and do whatever you have to do. This guy would come in 30, 45, an hour, a minute, an hour late. You know, had to sit him down, talk to him. You know what? Okay, no problem. So when this last time he was I'm waiting on him to come, they tell me, well, he he's making a change. I said, Good. Wow, I said, that's great, that's great. You know, the the thing about it is they know once you leave, there's no coming back.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_11So all the talent in the world, all the talent in the world, but you know, you can't keep him from hurting himself.

I wanted to ask, given the discipline that you've seen thus far in the gym and seeing the 168-pound landscape, even the 175-pound landscape, what do you see in the future of a very well disciplined Jamal Charlotte and coming up with this opponent that's being picked out from Australia? What are you looking to do with Jamal Charlo? Are you pushing him to make a statement? Are you pushing him to maybe get the rounds in? What's the outlook on the upcoming fight for him since he's been off for about a year now?
SPEAKER_11Well, as far as you know, look at making them give rounds. I don't believe in that. I don't, I don't believe in that. You know, you fight another man that's in front of you, you know, and everybody that gets in that ring is coming to win. So, you know, you know, the the the best thing I can do for Jamal Charlotte, get him in great shape. And hey, if we're going to win round, I'm very happy with that. You know, I'm not trying to get, you know, rounds, you know, so-called rounds. You know, this this is this part is too dangerous to try to get rounds. You know, what you have to get is, you know, to get him in the best shape that's possible and then let him go from there. You know, who he fights, you know, it doesn't matter who Jamal Charlotte fights. He's at the point now where, you know, he can fight anybody. And he should be fighting everybody. You know, no more excuses, no more nothing. You know, now it's grind time. He only have a few years left. You know, at 37 years old right now, 36, 37 years old, you know, he has to understand that this is his last run. You know, the run don't last forever.

SPEAKER_06Let me tell you something. This is why I love this is why I love Rodney Shield. Roddy Shield, you got it, you got our chats blowing up. Everybody wants a question. Uh, this one comes from the real McCoy. Uh, it says, Coach, I would like my advice on my 17-year-old son. I want to say uh he's been taking a break from boxing. Uh, he always had a pro style uh versus amateur. We haven't been talking. He's with his mom and she moved to Arizona.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, that's you know, first you have to get the relationship back with your son. That's that's number one. You know, uh, if you're someone to be a fighter, of course, you gotta be in that gym every day, man. It's this is, you know, boxing is a job. You know, it's something you have to do every day. You know, you can't do it and have to do it. If you're gonna do it, you gotta do it full-time. You know, it just is, you know, it makes so much sense that he's a 17-year-old kid. He's in a the, you know, he this is the best learning time of his life. You know, so he can learn everything at this age, you know, and so and yes, pro style, okay, that's fine. 17, depending on how many amateur fights he's had. If you feel he's ready to go pro, then that's what you have to do. But you have to understand, you know, being as a pro takes a lot of discipline. And if he's not disciplined enough for you that you think he can't turn pro right now, then keep him amateur. You know, if he's disciplined enough that you think he is, then hope. Then get with, you know, make sure he has a good trainer, but make sure he gives one of the top uh promoters out there because you know, you don't wanna, you know, you want him fighting regular at that age. That's the only way he's gonna learn.
SPEAKER_06The great Ronnie Shields through dropping those gems. Hey, uh it was in Houston. What did you think about the Oshaki Foster Ray Four fight?
SPEAKER_11I I thought it was a great fight. Oshaki really showed himself.
SPEAKER_08Yes.
SPEAKER_11You know, he showed who he really is, you know. And you know, Ray Ford, you know, I was a little disappointed in the f in the things that I saw him do. You know, I thought, you know, if you're fighting for the championship of the world, you gotta go get it, man. You know, and he started out the first couple rounds was not so good, but then he picked it up like three, four, and five. He really picked up the fight. But then all of a sudden, Oshaka was like, hey, you're coming after my title, man.
SPEAKER_08Yes.
SPEAKER_11Oshaka just turned up the pace on him, you know, and left him behind. But that's what good fighters do, you know.
SPEAKER_06And and I I agree with you wholeheartedly. I I said this, we we were talking before you came on. I said, at what point are people gonna start respecting Oshaki Foster? Man, that guy can fight. I'm telling you. I mean, listen, he doesn't may not have the names of the Jaqord, the tanks, the Ryan. But yo, this dude can fight. He's slick. Uh, he knows he's in the B at 130, he got long arms. He knows his range really well. Uh I like Oshaki Foster. And you saw obviously Shakur jump in there afterwards and was like, yo, well, let's get it. Let's what would you what would you think about a Shakur Oshaki Foster fight?
SPEAKER_11Well, you know, it's another great fight because of his length and his, you know, the way the way Oshaki fights, you know. But Shakur is a different level. You know, he's a different level right now. You know, Oshaki, you know. He I mean, I think he's the best 130 pounder in the world right now. But when you talk about moving up in weight and going to that next elite level of Shakur Stevenson, that's something that's way different. That's things he haven't seen before. And but the guys Oshaki is fighting, he's beating good guys. Don't get me wrong. But that's at 130 pounds. When you go up to the next level, it gets harder and harder and harder. And that's something a level he haven't seen yet. So, you know, and I know they sparred before. Right. Sparring is so much different. When you got full action, you got a big crowd out there, you got everybody watching around the world watching you. That becomes a different mentality then. So, and I think right now, I think he will give Shakur a great fight. But I just think Shakur is just one level above Oshaki right now.
SPEAKER_06I I think for for and and listen, you know, I'm sure Oshaki's team will do what they want to do, but if you're top rank, why not do Oshaki and Emmanuel Navarrate? I mean, you're doing a unification fight right there. That would be huge.
SPEAKER_11Absolutely. You know, it's all about the experience. You know, Shakur got that experience already, you know, and he got it in real fights. I'm not talking about gym fights, and that's where people get confused at. Gym fights is gym fights. But when you get in there with the real tough guys, Shakur has that. Oshaki dope. So yeah, Navarre, you gotta get that fight and prove yourself in that fight. Because right now, they got him above Oshaki. You know, so you gotta say, okay, let me go get this fight before I start calling out Shakur. Get that fight, clean that division up. Then you go up with that experience, and that's gonna help him.
SPEAKER_06And I know we joked about this at the beginning. Is it because of your gym? Well, what is it about Houston that now it's like so many cats are like coming and staying in Houston and training in Houston and living there in Houston?
SPEAKER_13What is it?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, man, you know, look, everybody loves Houston, man. You know, look, we we do, we have some great trainers here. We do. You know, Shocky got Bobby been Bobby and I have been friends for a very long time, you know, and he got good guys around him also that helps him. So, and it's the same back in my gym. You know, we have we have good trainers in my gym. We, you know, we all work together, and that's what it's all about. But the thing about it here, you know, we don't have to really, in the winter time, we don't have the really cold weather. You you know, we don't have we don't hardly see snow here or anything like that. But we, you know, we have good weather all year round. So, you know, people come here, but it's all about, you know, you can keep great sparring here, you know, you can get everything here. So you don't have to go elsewhere to look.
SPEAKER_06Interesting. We got another super chat, man. God, they they I mean they love you, coach. These cats are blowing up our thing. Uh Trice Toledo says, your thoughts on pros going back uh to the Olympics. I'm not a big fan of that.
SPEAKER_11Okay, I'm not a big fan of it. You know, I think, you know, coming up has always been, hey man, as an amateur, the biggest thing for an amateur is to get into the Olympics. You know, and you got all these amateur guys that's that's coming up and they're trying to fight their way up just to get to that level and get to the Olympics. But then all of a sudden, we're bringing back professional fighters that have so much more experience than these young guys, and we're taking that away from them. You know, we're taking something away from an amateur kid that has poured his heart out into trying to make it to the Olympics, and now we're letting these professional fighters come back that with all the experience they had from the amateurs and all the pro experience, and you you put them over these amateur kids who's grinding every single day to try to get to that spot to get on the Olympic team, and then we're taking these guys with more much more experience over there. And you know, these kids you're taking these kids' dream away from them. You know, why would we do that? Why would we go take these kids' dream away from them? But these guys got way more experience. They've already been amateur now they're professionals and getting experience on the professional side, and then you're saying, okay, it's okay for you to come back now and take this dream from these young kids.
SPEAKER_06That's interesting. That's interesting. Appreciate that. Uh Toledo Trice, appreciate the uh trice to appreciate the uh the super chat. Uh and we've got the great Ronnie Shields uh here with us. Hey, hey, do you train female fighters at all, Ronnie?
SPEAKER_11You know what? I have one female fighter that I was training, okay, but now she's one of my trainers. She's one of my trainers now. Okay, you know, and so and uh actually I had a fight in California a couple weeks ago, and I got a visit from Caroline Dubois.
SPEAKER_05Really?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, but I wasn't there. So I missed her. But she wanted she wanted to come work out with me to see if you know if we can do do something together. But I was I was out of town when she came.
SPEAKER_06Well, uh Carol Caroline Dubois, matter of fact, she was at that Stephanie Hahn Holly Home fight and told Stephanie Hahn, who got the the the controversial win over home, like, yo, why don't you fight me? I'm a champion, and that's what Hahn said. She was like, Yeah, I would like to fight you next. Let's unify. So that's interesting. You said and and and where do you stand on this? Because it's women's boxing is hot right now. Do you, you know, the MVP line is we want equality and we should be fighting uh three-minute rounds, whereas there's others that are like, hey, women boxing is just fine where it is with the two-minute rounds. Where do you fall on that?
SPEAKER_11Well, you know, I I mean I love women boxing. Yeah. I do. And I think the women deserve to have whatever they feel they should have. Yeah. You know, but you know, look, two, three-minute rounds, it doesn't matter. You know, these women go in the gym and they train just as hard as the men does. So why not say, okay, we want to be equal in rounds, equal in minutes that we go. You know, why are they doing this two-minute round thing? You know, women want to show, look, we're just as equal as the men. We can't fight the men, but at least with each other, we can do the same thing as the men do. And I agree, three minutes round, that should be it. They're professionals. Do not treat them like professionals if you let them go two minutes. Professionals go three minutes. So why not? They want to prove they're just as equal as the as the men. Why not let them go three minutes? And I agree wholeheartedly with the women. Oh, look at that. Okay, right.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_06I didn't know he was gonna go that route, but okay, go. I like that. Uh do you have uh listen? Obviously, you got your your stable of fighters, but do you have like favorite guys that you'd be like, man, if he's fighting, I'm turning on the TV, I'm gonna watch him. I like this cat. This cat is is a favorite fighter of mine. Who are who are who are Ronnie Ronnie Shields' favorites?
SPEAKER_11One is Jacos Davidson. Okay, he's definitely one of my favorite fighters, you know. Um Another David Benavides. Yes, you know, I've gone up against David with Morale, you know, but that was a great fight. It's definitely one of my favorite fighters, you know. And I'm gonna pick guys that not with my stable, because I don't want to sign. Yes. But so, but um man, it's so many, it's so many good young up-and-coming fighters out there that you know that that people haven't really seen yet, you know. And but man, you know, boxing right now is so hot right now. And we just have to keep it going, you know, and but we have to give these young guys opportunities. And I gotta say this, Eddie Hearn, right, is really signing a lot of young up-and-coming fighters from the states. Really? Yeah, he is signing a lot of uh young guys that and you know he's he's he's doing what's up what these guys here are supposed to be doing. Eddie Hearn is doing it now. And he's taking US guys and bringing them there to London. And he's you know, he's showcasing them there, you know. These promoters here gotta get on the ball, man, because we're losing a lot of guys to the Europeans. We are, whether they know it or not, we are, we're losing.
SPEAKER_06The great example is that is Boots Innis. He went and signed Boots Innis and bringed up the match room. Now Boots has got this big fight with Xander Zayas. How do you see that fight playing out? Uh goes down June 27th.
SPEAKER_11This is gonna be a bomb burner fight, you know. And for me, I think Boots is the favorite. But Gather for Miller Zayas is champion. He's not going in there to give up his titles. This guy's gonna fight. You know, this is gonna be a classic fight. This is gonna be classic, but I'm favoring Boots in the fight.
SPEAKER_06Well what do you what do you take on? You you talked about match room coming in. What about Zufa? What do you what do you like, Zofa? Do you do you like what they're doing where especially if you get signed to Zufa, they have like it's almost like a the UFC of boxing. They got their own league, you wear the the the the single the trunk, you gotta be white or whatever, they only fight net that and now I guess the the the place in Vegas. Uh what what do you think about and then the Zufa belt? What do you think about Zufa?
SPEAKER_11Well, I got pros and cons about Zufa. Okay, right? Let me tell you the cons first. Okay, right. What I don't like is you know, they changed some of the divisions. They took away like the junior, like junior walked away, they took that away, junior middleweight, you took that away. I mean, I don't think they understand what fighters go through with weight. You know, this is why they put in, you know, all the junior weights because fighters was so small having to go up because they couldn't make the smaller weight. So they you know, if you got a guy that's fighting 140 pounds, right? But then you take that away. You force him to go up because he can't go back down. He can't down to one, he can't go down to 135. He's too small, I mean too big for that weight. Then he's too small to go up to 147. And you take away 140 pounds. That that's gonna hurt so many young fighters, you know? That's gonna really hurt them. And so I'm I'm I'm against that. That's the that's the thing I'm against. They kept in cruiserweight, which is a good thing for those guys, but all the other junior weights you took away. And that's gonna hurt so many fighters, especially with weight. So many guys are not big enough to go up, and some so many guys are not, they're too big to go down. So you're killing them trying to make that weight, you know, to try to go down to that weight, and that's gonna hurt a lot of fighters. But the good thing I like about them, like when when you go to the fight, when you go to the venue or to the city to wherever you're fighting, let's say Las Vegas, when you go there, you go there like three or four days before the fight. Right away, they give you um a nutritionist. Right? They put you on a scale, they're telling you, okay, you can eat this, they give you food. I mean, they give you food for every day that you're there. They make sure you eat also, and then they monitor everything. I love that.
SPEAKER_07Wow.
SPEAKER_11Because it's gonna help so many fighters with the weight, you know, we're trying to with the weight cut, you know, and they're doing a good thing there. But they have one other thing that I don't like, right? So if you have family that's coming and you get the and they're giving you comp tickets, right? They give you four ring-size seats, right? If you soon as you your guy fight, you gotta get up. You lose those seats. Wow. Not only do you have to get up, you gotta leave the venue.
SPEAKER_06Hey Alex, they said you ain't got to go home, but you gotta get the hell up out of here.
SPEAKER_05That's crazy. That's crazy work.
SPEAKER_11The fighter gotta leave the venue. Oh wow, they don't get a chance time to change clothes. Wow. Right outside the door. You gotta get you gotta go. You done, you gotta go.

And he makes everybody look bad. Everybody, you know, so everybody's trying to stay away from him. You know, Justin, I think, is ranked number six by the WBA as a lightweight. So, but you know, right now, you know, he's uh trying to pressure his managers to, you know, man, get me give me something. You know, it's I mean it's hard to get this guy fights. Everybody turned him down. Everybody turns him down. So, you know, so hopefully, you know, his his managers come up with something soon. Because, you know, he's in the gym every day, you know, he's working, and it's hard for a kid to work hard every day when you know he has nothing coming up, you know. I mean, it's it's it's it's it's just one of those crazy things. It's really disturbing.

So we're just looking so far to just going to Australia and show them that where the best fighters are.

So and the way Oshaki was speaking, it's like he knows that he can get off on certain things. And obviously, the evolution of a fighter continues, right? That these guys are on different levels from when they sparred. But how interested are you guys in even seeing that, man? It looks like like like the whole entire fight was overshadowed with the with the last scene of Shakur jumping in and shit. Yeah, it's like I didn't even get I was looking for the post-fight interview for for for Ford, and I didn't even see that. Like, I didn't even get to see that. Like, what happened?
SPEAKER_03I'm surprised they let Shakur up there. I'm I'm not gonna lie. I don't know. He told him he was like, come up, come up, yeah. But I'm surprised they let him up there. But uh, I I I don't I don't think that fight's realistic because what uh shocks gotta go up what 10 pounds, yeah, for that.

Like that, I feel like that's where it gets because Boots has always been the favorite in the majority of the fights. Because guys don't even talk too much. Exactly. They don't they don't step to Boots out. Xander is Xander's like, I'm so confident that I'm gonna whoop your ass that this this this is not this is not no, this is not I'm not messing around. Like, I'm here to win. A lot of the guys that Boots fights, I don't think they're there to actually beat Boots. But Boots Boots is very annoyed, I think, uh the confidence that Xander has. And obviously he has the belts, but like he he really thinks he's gonna win this fight.

SPEAKER_18Look, I never seen anybody speak to to Jeron Ennis this way. I I've never seen Stanley Onis wasn't talking like this, you know. None of these guys were talking like this, and I uh and and and you know the fact that he's doing it and he's not playing a role, you don't see him trying to like hype himself up. It's like pure confidence in himself, you know, as he should be, right? He's a two-belt champion. Yeah, yeah, you we can keep you know uh trumpeting about you know him being young and all this stuff, but it doesn't matter. David Benavides was young too when he was coming up and and knocking guys out and being the champion that he is now. So, you know, uh I think we're looking into a really good fight. Uh Jeron is Jerron is the favorite, right? Let's just say he's the majority favorite. And and and as he as he should be, he does have a little bit more experience, right? Maybe like 10, 10, 15 fights more approximately, if I'm not you know too far off on that number. And um he's really been putting guys down, he knocks guys down, but he's had his little troubles too, you know. And I think that that's uh what Xander's eyes always points out, like, oh, you got hit, or you know, you had a little trouble here. And uh I think it was in one of the fights, I forget what fight it was, guys. Um where he had uh uh I think he did he win all 12 rounds, right? I gotta look it up just to make sure that I'm not you know messing that up. But or Xander's boots, boots, boots. I know he had uh a fight where he he didn't know. Was it Villa?
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, Ramon Villa.
SPEAKER_18And and you know, maybe sometimes we have off days. And I never judge, you know, too too for look too far into that because you know sometimes we can have an off day as a fighter, but Jeron isn't the favorite, and he has been knocking guys out. Xander's eyes hasn't been knocking guys out, you know. Um I think that he's shown tremendous boxing skill and adjustment abilities. And I think that that counts for a lot when you're going up against a guy like Jeron Ennis. You're gonna have to make adjustments. Jeron Ennis is uh you know the type of guy that if you start, you know, to second guess yourself in that ring, you're gonna have to make adjustments really quick to avoid some of that power. And if you can't make those adjustments, he smells the blood from start to finish you, man. So uh you know it's it's it's a it's looking like Jeron Ennis is the favorite, the majority favorite, but going into this fight, man, I gotta I gotta you know balance the scales uh with Xander. I think that we're looking at uh a very good fight, let's say 60-40 on this fight. And uh I know I know the chat's you know saying that you know Xander's gonna get washed.
SPEAKER_03Wow. Uh yeah, a lot of people respectfully, I can see from their perspective because that last fight against Barrow, he didn't look the best. But he was going for the knockout in round 12. He got caught a couple times, but I feel like he'll fight a completely different fight against Boots than he fought against Barrow. Obviously, you're looking to knock out bro. I don't know if he's gonna knock out Boots, but um I don't I don't know his method of I don't know what their method of training is against Boots, but I feel like he's gonna fight a completely different fight than he fought against Barrow. And that was an entertaining fight. That was very entertaining, entertaining fight.
SPEAKER_06And he went toe-to-toe with him. Yeah, he went toe toe in the 12th round. I give I give Xander, I give Xander, I give him prop for that because he was going up against a champion, they both were champion, and he was like, yo, okay, you won't slug it out with him. Well, let's slug it out. Let's slug it out.
SPEAKER_03He ain't knocked him out though. He ain't knocked him out though.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but you know, I hey, I liked it. I liked I liked his his cojones uh in that cojones, he was at home, he was at home, and I was like we put on our show at home. And I will say this it's one of those fights where now they can finally answer questions because you know how we love boots. Boots is so talented, but you know, I hear people say all that, oh man, you be talking about boots and boots and that who has he fought? Boots ain't fought nobody, boots ain't that well you can't say that anymore now. He's fighting a young champion who is in his prime, so to speak. So this is this is gonna be one heck of a fight. And then the same thing for Xander's ias. You know, people have said, oh yeah, Xander's great, he's talented, but who has he really fought? He's only really fought one or two. Okay, now he got boots in this. He got the the the boogeyman of boogeyman in in this division, and and it's it's a great test. It's almost like this is what you want two young guys for the most part going ahead and fight. Now, there's other people, and that we even asked Xander this this question, and and give me y'all's thoughts on this. Some people say, Well, this is almost like Canelo fighting Floyd. Canelo was the young whipper snapper that everybody was like, Oh, this kid is gonna be great, but oh, was it too early for him to fight Floyd? And Boots is like the Floyd, whereas everybody's oh, he's athletic, he's powerful, he's this and that for the maybe, maybe Xander should have waited a little bit for this fight.
SPEAKER_03Do you remember when we asked Red Man the same question? And he said he didn't like that because there might be never a point in in Xander's career where he would be up to par, so you would never know. So I think I I would take that perspective as like this is probably the highest peak Xander has right now. I mean, you got the belts. I don't know what Boots' career path is looking like. I don't obviously you'll never know until it happens, but I think this this is probably the highest peak Xander will have to fight a boot. I mean, you have the belts, you have you have leverage right now. He has the leverage right now to make this fight. And I feel like that's why we're having it right now, rather than waiting a couple years and let's say Xander takes a loss and loses the belts, then you can't fight a boot. This is the this is the this is the leverage he has right now. I have the belts, so let's do it.
SPEAKER_18Yeah, I think it's it switches a little bit, right? Because I Floyd Floyd had the belts at that time, right? And Canelo was trying to get those belts.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_18Now it's a it's a different, it's a yeah, it's a different look. I I see where they're trying to make that look like that, but uh I I'm not gonna say it's the same. I'm not gonna say it's the same. And um Floyd, I mean, I mean, I'm not to say Floyd is Floyd, right? Floyd is a different type of fighter, you know what I mean? Uh Jeron Ennis, he likes to he likes to get into the fire, right? I mean, if we were talking about pretty boy Floyd when he was taking risks and really trying to finish guys, then we could probably make that comparison. But um by the time Canelo got to Floyd at that time, Floyd was just so defensive defensively sound, and that was mostly what his style consisted of counter punching and just making you look stupid in the ring. So um this is a fight that we're gonna get to see guys actually fight, you know. No, not nothing against Floyd. I don't know, but but these guys are gonna fight, right? These guys wanna beat each other. I know, I know Jeron's going in there, he wants to finish him at the face to face, right, Colin? He said, I'm I'm I'm looking for the knock. I'm gonna knock him out.
SPEAKER_03You said he's levels levels above Xander levels above him, yeah.
SPEAKER_18And I think that this fight is gonna be the type of fight that everybody, I mean, we're gonna be the winners, right? We're gonna enjoy this fight. I don't see a fight where uh Xander's eyes makes the adjustments to where he's able to avoid a fight. He's gonna have to fight. He's gonna have to fight. Was it M Billy that Xander fought, man? Uh it wasn't M Billy. Who was it that was it and Billy that he fought? This last fight went um. No, it was Barrow.

SPEAKER_18So so when when you see when you saw that fight, you saw the adjustments that Xander Zyas was making, you seen him moving around the race.
SPEAKER_06Yes, yeah, yes, he boxed well.
SPEAKER_18So, but but Barrow ain't ain't a boots, boots, right? So that's something that I'm thinking about going into this fight. I'm like, okay, I seen you make these adjustments, I seen that you were able to fight in pockets, but this is a whole different animal you're about to face. So what else do you got? You gotta Jeron Ennis, the only way you're gonna gain his respect is if is if you if you hurt him, right? If you catch him with some good shots, if you keep him at bay. So if if Xander wants to win this fight, he's gonna have to earn it, he's gonna have to earn respect, and he's gonna have to hit Ennis with some good shots to kind of get Ennis to go into more def defensive type type of fight. And I don't mean totally defensive because I don't see that happening either, but they be a little more cautious in and come. In with that killer instinct that he always does with the other the other fighters that he's had.
SPEAKER_03Here's the thing with boots. Boots said uh Xander looks too big, and I think he might gas out as well. I I do you see that? I I Xander looks really big, he looks really big to me.

And all respect, he do got a little noggin on him. I was looking at because I compare everything, you know, I'm comparing biceps, shoulders, and I'm looking at them, and I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Xander's Xander's got the John Travolta thing going. That's really funny.
SPEAKER_03Is that an advantage against a booth or a disadvantage?
SPEAKER_18I mean, I don't know. If you got a John Travolta, maybe you could take a better shot, you know what I'm saying? Maybe if you got a little head, you know, the shots don't you know don't sit as as as well. But uh he definitely looked bigger than that face-to-face man. So you know, and it's talking about the fat camp, yep, you know, and all that, you know, you're in fat camp and all that stuff. I start, you know, I start to kind of take a look at things, and I'm like, okay, but then you look at at the training right now, jump and rope. Xander's, you know, he's he's looking, he's looking like he's gonna make that weight and he's gonna make it healthy.
SPEAKER_03I saw Boots on IG Live. He was uh he was getting at work, and what was he? I forget what he was wearing the mask and what he was running or boots, boots, boots looked like you haven't really seen much about Boots like uh other than training. But Xander be posting, he be modeling and uh I don't know where he was, like in Paris or something, modeling. You seen that? I did see that, and I'm like, uh you you look at the comparison to the social medias. All Boots has been posting is himself working, working, working, working, and Xander been more of a business perspective. He's out here modeling and dressing up. I I don't know who it was. It might have been with like the kids connected, man. You know, he's connected now.
SPEAKER_06You don't know when he took those things, you know. It could be now he's just now posting those for you know what I mean. And true dude just been in the gym. So some of that, some of that could and and you know this is the psychology of a fight like this. He may be wanting to just hey, just post, just post all my publicity shit, just post all that, not the gym stuff. I don't want them to even see any anything that we got going on here. When we get in their boots, gonna be like, What the heck? What uh where did this come from? We ain't never seen nothing like this, so yeah, that could be totally strategic.
SPEAKER_18Yeah, he could have had that photo shoot like months ago. Yeah, months ago, because he was in France, he was in France, he's in France modeling for a mirror. That could have been a long time ago. I don't see him traveling all the way to France to come back over here.
SPEAKER_03Someone said this fight would show if boots is really it. I feel like it shows both. I told you this shows both.
SPEAKER_06It's it's a it's a fight where they both can finally answer questions. I mean, at 23, he's the youngest, he's the he was the youngest, basically unified champ in the sport of boxing. And look, there's some who still be like, Yeah, he's a good fighter, but a unified champ. He can answer those questions with a win against Jeron Ennis, a guy who even when the old guard was in their prime, and I'm talking about Thurman, you know, Spence. Uh hey, even even Terrence, nobody was trying to fight Boots then. When when Boots was 23, Xander's age. Wasn't nobody trying to fight fight boots. Now why? That's too uh uh too much risk, low reward, you know. They wasn't trying to fight boots then.
SPEAKER_03A lot of people were dodging boots in that boots was at uh PBC, he waited a long time.
SPEAKER_06Yes, he was at the look. I was in this and they were trying to get get guys and guys, oh man, you're gonna give me them, then you're gonna pay me two million dollars. For and that was when we went, and we weren't doing pay-per-views as much, it was like just championship boxing at that point, and you know, guys were like, nah, you're gonna have to pay me pay-per-view money, pay me, you know, two, three million dollars. That you want me to fight boots, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I think I think boots signing with Eddie was probably the best decision he's ever made, respectfully, yeah, respect to all the other promoters out there, but I think it's the best decision he's ever made.

So, and then we're like, I'm sorry, David Benavedes is a champion, he's a champion. You can you can go to the the WBA and doesn't say I'm sorry, excuse me. He's a champion in the division. Gio Pataya was in negotiations with Noel McKellen for a WBC title. Okay, Devin Haney supposedly is in the in, you know, the rumor is in the spaces that he may be in negotiations with Zoofa boxing, including Shakur Stevenson, both of them champions. Um we can't let these guys get away with this whole entire Zoofa Island thing. It's over for the Zoofa Island.

That's not the truth, man. And Turkey Alashik already put it out there, he's interested in putting the fight together. I mean, I think timing is everything. I think there's a lot of politics uh, you know, around these fights being made, but we need to get past the politics, especially for David Benavidez. It's time, he needs his signature fight. He couldn't get Canelo Alvarez at 168. He's having a hard time getting Demetri Bible at one uh 175. Here he is, a unified champion in a cruiserweight division, number one ring magazine, the number one cruiserweight in the world is Jobatai. That's the fight that needs to be made for David Benavidez. That's his opportunity to cement his legacy and really put himself in the top three on the pound for pound list. You know what I mean? Absolutely.
SPEAKER_03That's the move, absolutely, and it's crazy because David is willing to cross over different platforms, so it should be a lot easier to make just because of how open David is to work with other promoters and work with other networks. So I I think it's it's it's a shame, it's a shame that David has to scramble for a fight right now, and he's the hottest name in boxing.
